Servant of God Empress Zita Holy Mass & Symposium at 10am on May 13, 2023

Holy Mass in honor of Servant of God Zita of Bourbon-Parma, Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, followed by two Presentations, interrupted by a Luncheon, and then a Question and Answer Panel.  Symposium speakers include Mr. Charles Columbe (author of a biography on Blessed Charles of Austria) and HIRH Archduke Rudolf of Austria (grandson of Empress Zita), with the participation of HIRH Princess Maria-Anna Habsburg Galitzine (granddaughter of Empress Zita).

New Advent CD: Rorate Cœli: Marian Sounds of Advent

We are happy to announce our new recording, entitled Rorate Cœli: Marian Sounds of Advent. The recording took place in our church and was released September 9, 2022, by The Sophia Music Group/De Montfort Music, which is all part of Sophia Institute. The CD features the Saturday Mass of the Blessed Virgin in Advent, some pieces from the Divine Office in Advent, and the Mass of the Vigil of Christmas and comes with lyrics in Latin, English, and French in the accompanying booklet, which also includes a musical commentary on the spirit of the pieces.  The recording itself is available for order at the links below.

Learn Gregorian Chant – Laus in Ecclesia Level One & Two Courses

Clear Creek Abbey will host two classes in Gregorian chant:

Laus In Ecclesia, level 1, taking the complete beginner or amateur in Gregorian chant to the level of being able to sing the chant with a certain competence

Laus in Ecclesia, level 2, building on the first degree, sharpening skills in reading notation, and rhythm, with an emphasis on the singing of the Divine Office in Gregorian chant.

Clear Creek Abbey hosts Three Hearts Pilgrimage

Clear Creek Abbey will again host the final Mass of the Three Hearts Pilgrimage, October 21st-23rd, 2021: A sacrificial walk of reparation which culminates at the High Mass at Clear Creek Abbey.  Father Abbot described last year’s pilgrimage thusly:

Some six hundred pilgrims entered our church at the end of a thirty-five-mile walk described as “half as long as Chartres, but twice as hard,” meaning it included some steep hills between the first campsite near the Illinois river and our abbey. This was the first Three Hearts Pilgrimage, dedicated to a work of reparation under the patronage of Our Lady Help of Christians and the Three Hearts, that is to say the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the Most Chaste Heart of Joseph.
